Privacy policy

Your memory stays on your computer.

Last updated September 28, 2026. This policy covers the Master desktop app for Windows and the Master browser extension for Chrome and Edge.

What Master stores

Master keeps the facts you choose to save about yourself (your "memories"), the sharing labels you give them, the conversations you choose to save for handoff, and a log of what was shared with which AI and when. All of this is stored in one encrypted file on your own computer. The encryption key is protected by Windows for your Windows login. Master, The Machine and GRP Capital Partners have no access to it.

What the browser extension does

The extension adds a round "M" button to chatgpt.com, gemini.google.com, grok.com and claude.ai. When you press it, the extension talks only to the Master app running on your own computer (localhost, port 47831) with a pairing token you approve inside the app. It inserts the memories you allow into the chat box of the page you are on, saves text you choose as a new memory, and can save the conversation on the page for a handoff. It reads the page only when you press a button. It does not read your browsing history, other tabs, passwords or cookies, and it does not send anything to us or to any third party.

Data we collect on this website

The Master website keeps a waitlist of email addresses you enter yourself, and, for Master Cloud accounts, an email address, a password hash and the memories you chose to sync. We do not sell or share personal data. We do not use advertising trackers.

Your choices

Delete any memory, handoff or backup in the app. Turn off Master Cloud in Advanced settings to delete the cloud copy. Remove the extension from your browser at any time; nothing remains in the browser except the pairing token, which is removed with it.
